Although the Alaska state government proposed a tax-cut bill for the Alaska LNG project, it failed to pass the state legislature, and it has become effectively certain that deliberations will be postponed until the regular legislative session beginning in January 2027. While the legislature supports the project for its contribution to energy security, it seeks to limit the scale of the tax cuts to ensure sufficient tax revenue. The fate of this bill will be a crucial indicator of the future of project.
