Outline The current LNG market is increasingly shaped by uncertainty, elevated energy prices, and evolving energy security strategies. LNG and European gas prices rose to their highest levels since early 2023, supported by Middle East tensions, high oil prices, and concerns over gas inventory adequacy. Despite a relatively slower pace of overall LNG investment trends than in 2025, a major North American project reached an FID, lifting global LNG liquefaction capacity sanctioned in 2026 to around 43 million tonnes per year. The issue also observes developments in LNG trade, infrastructure, shipping, methane emissions management, market security, and policy initiatives across major producing and consuming regions.
