4. 概　要　： Asia's national oil companies (NOCs) are becoming major competitive forces in the global energy
industry and their activities carry important implications both for the future of international oil
companies (IOCs) and for the future of the global competitive environment. Moreover, the widening
global reach of Asia's NOCs, combined with their close national government ties, has major
geopolitical implications for the U.S. and the Asian region. NBR's Mikkal Herberg will discuss trends
in the global expansion of Asia's NOCs, differences among the NOCs in terms of their commercial
strategies and capabilities as well as government support, and discuss some of the competitive
implications for the industry, and the geopolitical implications of the growing power of Asia's NOCs.
