Seminar on the Current Status of Masdar and the Zayed Future Energy Prize

The IEEJ hosted a seminar on the current status of Masdar and introduction to the Zayed Future Energy Prize. We were delighted to have an honor of receiving Dr. Nawal Al Hosany, director of the Masdar, to share the current status of the Masdar projects as well as the Prize.
At the seminar, Dr. Nawal Al-Hosany introduced the Zayed Future Energy Prize which was established in 2008 to recognize leading companies and individuals in the world who contributed to promote accelerated introduction of renewable energy and low-carbon society through innovative technologies.(*). The event presented a good opportunity for the participants to deepen the understanding of both Masdar programs and Zayed Future Energy Prize.
(*) Zayed Future Energy Prize is awarded to the recipients in every January concurrently when the World Future Energy Summit takes place in Abu Dhabi. The past recipients include those companies which are recognized for their contribution to the global promotion of low-carbon energy technologies, etc., such as Toyota (2010 for Hybrid Cars), Vestas (2011 for Wind Power), and Schneider Electric(2012 for Energy management). Application for the 2013 prize is now open until mid July.
